Sunday Reading - One Day

Hi everyone,

This week I wanted to suggest a book that isn't a young adult novel and that's One Day by David Nicholls. It's still a romance one though, because I'm a hopeless romantic like that.

This book is the story of Emma and Dexter. The first chapter is the first time they meet, and then each other chapters are that same day, but the next year, so all of their July 15s. If you've read all of my stories, you know that I enjoy that format quite a lot.

This story is about missed opportunities and people growing together and apart. It's about two people that are so obviously meant for each other, but that just don't act upon their feelings.

It's funny, and it's well written. And it's sad, oh so very very sad, but like a good sad. The last chapters wrecked me, completely and entirely wrecked me. If you don't want to cry, maybe stay away from this book.

They made a movie out of it too, that was good. But the book is on another level. And you definitely need to read it!
